Blue Isle Studios is hiring, again!
We are looking for a skilled programmer to help us out with our brand new game; a first person exploration and adventure featuring beautiful outdoor worlds. The ideal candidate is able to work closely with design to develop some of the best quality features for players on all kinds of platforms ranging from PC to consoles, and mobile. Most importantly, we are looking for someone who is genuinely passionate and excited to create amazing video game experiences.
This is a full-time position working from our office located in downtown Toronto. We are not looking for remote contract work at this time.
The role will primarily consist of design and implementation of various gameplay systems. We are looking for someone that is comfortable working closely with designers to create compelling gameplay as well as improve on their world building workflows. Experience working within Unity as well as utilizing Unity’s new GUI tools are a requirement. Our ideal candidate has at least 3 years of experience and has shipped a PC or console game in the past.
From a technical standpoint we’re looking for someone that can work within the constraints and tools provided; this means that the right candidate can create major systems in Unity without relying on external plugins or assets. The right candidate would have experience with various systems such as AI/Pathing, gameplay scripting, FX and database management. Intimate knowledge of C# is a must while C/C++ programming would be viewed as a plus. Additional assets that are not requirements include network programming experience, mathematics skills including trigonometry and linear algebra, experience with multithreaded code, knowledge of Shaderlab/CGProgram/HLSL and knowledge of Linux/SSH/PHP/HTML or other web technologies.
Being a small independent studio, this position means that you will have the opportunity to work very closely with the rest of our team. If you are interested in working with us to help create memorable gameplay experiences for years to come, we’d love to hear from you.
If interested, please submit your application along with your resume and portfolio to firstname.lastname@example.org
